Battalion strives to combat and defeat autocrats worldwide and overthrow autocracies with direct action. This goal also includes corporate oligarchies, crony capitalism, monopolies, religious nationalism, racist nationalism, big tech, big media, and any other sort of dickheadedness. Fascists, communists, and anything or anyone allied with them are its foes.<\/p>\n

It is built with open-source software and a dedication to freedom and human rights.<\/p>\n

You, me, everyone, and every nation on the planet are involved a world war between democracy and autocracy. That’s life. Hybrid nation states are in the middle playing both ends against each other.<\/p>\n

And within countries we are in a battle between democrats and autocrats. Political parties in every nation, province, and city fall somewhere between the two.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

It’s being fought in the minds of everyone, online, in public life, in the economy, in legislatures, and (sometimes violently) on the ground as well.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Battalion aims to help create, support, and empower communities (of all types) to win battles in the eternal war against autocracy and for freedom. We will do so with curated and original resources.<\/p>\n

This project was one that was planned to launch several years in the future during our retirement in Europe. It was to be used as a personal political organizer. Unfortunately the world is not improving with time. And because big tech and big money entrench autocracy, weaken democracy, enshittify the economy, and destroy the environment, I have decided to launch the project early.<\/p>\n

Again, it’s built with open-source technology not corporate surveillance tech. Battalion is fortified with WordPress and Activity Pub. Both are tried and true technologies that democratize the web and social spaces. And they have done so for a long time.<\/p>\n
